My life outside books:

My daughter is home from college! She'll be here until mid-February when her second semester starts up again in person. They've postponed by almost a month to get over the worst of the winter and will only have a couple days spring break during which they cannot leave campus. It feels great to have her home.

My mother had back surgery on Thursday and the surgeon said it went very well. She has to stay in hospital until Tuesday, which feels really long, but I am glad they will keep her until they know she is ready to come home.
I've started watching The Queen's Gambit while on the treadmill (alternating with the Amazing Race on the days they drop episodes). So far I like it. My daughter has gotten me hooked on Crash Landing on You, a Korean drama, which is totally addictive!
