My life outside books:

Just over a week until the election is over. Please, please, please let it go well all the way down the ticket. Of course, if it goes well, he'll still be in office for 2 more months; picture the damage he can do. Ugh.

Speaking of the election, here's a video put out by my school district that I organized and facilitated. I did not actually do the filming or editing since we have a great guy (Oscar) who does that. I think it turned out really well!

It has actually felt more fall-like here this week with cloudy days in the upper 60s and I like it. I even wore a sweater on my evening walk last night. After dinner, my dada and I do a "digestion walk" around the block. It's such a lovely way to end the day and now we're doing it in the dark.

We went to Lane Farms yesterday and bought some gourds and pumpkins. The place was packed, but everyone was distancing and wearing masks, so yay! The farm is owned by the Lane family, their grown daughters were my students in my first year of teaching and now they are my colleagues, so it's always fun to see them when we get our pumpkins and Christmas trees. And it's great to see a local business doing well.
