I participated in the Dewey 24-Hour Read-a-Thon, which was really fun even though I got a slow start to the day.
I've been posting my completed challenges, which feels good. Kind of like cleaning house and crossing things off a "to do" list.
Quite a variety of books you have been reading. I've been meaning to read The Eternal Smile because I love graphic novels, but haven't had the chance yet. Hope you have a great reading week!

Looks like a good week of reading. I'm surprised at how much I accomplished. Here's what I'm reading this week.
ReplyDeleteWow! You got a lot done! I did the readathon as well, and made it through almost TWO whole books! LOL! (I don't know if it helps that those 2 still brought my total pages up to almost 800! and the fact that I fell asleep for 8 hours of it ... and ... well, I'll just do better NEXT time!)

ReplyDeleteWell, it's Thursday for me -- I read your review of the book in the school and have to say I, too, am uncomfortable with the student-teacher relationships.
ReplyDeleteI did like the talk of friendships though, because I think friendships can happen between unlikely people, or between people with widely divergent views on all kinds of things! I have friends with very different views on politics and abortion for example, just like in my current book, "Rain Dance," by Joy DeKok. Two women with opposing view forge a friendship -- just like in real life! One of the points made here is that condemnation is wrong, no matter who is handing it out. It's thought-provoking, that's for sure. Just like real life...
Liz--So true! Sometimes we find ourselves becoming friends with people we never would have thought and that's what makes life so much more interesting!
