That is, until her boyfriend dies under brutal circumstances and her dishonesty begins to catch up with her. but is it possible to tell the truth when lying comes as easily as breathing? Taking readers deep into the psyche of a young woman who will say just about anything to convince them--and herself--that she's finally come clean, Liar is a bone-chilling thriller that will have readers seesawing between truths and lies right up to the end. Honestly.
Review: Wow. Where to start with this one. I've just finished it and I feel drained. In a good way. This book totally takes the reader on a wild ride. What have I just read that is true? What is lies? I just don't know!
I really liked the way the main character, Micah, talks to the reader; it made me feel like I was there with there in a room, listening to her tell me her story. And every time she confessed to a lie, I felt let down. We get to know all the other characters through Micah's eyes and Micah's story, it's all her version of what happened to her boyfriend (was he her boyfriend?), to her friends, at her school, etc.
Though this book is long at 371 pages, it is a quick and easy read. I liked the writing style. I got caught up in Micah's story from the beginning. What's not to like? Dating, school, secrets, bullies, it's all in there. What I think I like most is that throughout the book I questioned everything and I accepted everything all at once. That's a strange feeling.
There are parts of this book that are so fantastic, so unbelievable, but I can't tell you about them because it would ruin the book for you. You'll just have to read it for yourself!
