    I hope you enjoy Shantaram! I've picked it up a few times and couldn't really keep myself going :( I might have to give it another try in the future!

    Helen so often I stop by here and you are reading books I would love to read too... in fact I think I have one from the library right now because of you :)

    I am pretty sure The Dressmaker of Khair Khana is on my shelf somewhere... now I want to read it :)

    I have listed Shantaram as a book I am going to read for another challenge (a way of getting through some of those TBR books) so I might joine in your readalong if that's okay.

    Joann--So far I am enjoying Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter and realize it could count for the Mystery and Suspense Challenge

    RAnn--I didn't love the Dressmaker, but I liked it

    Pussreboots--I have still not read any manga and know that I should. It is so popular with the students at my school

    Crystal--I'll admit that Shantaram intimidates me a bit so I am glad I am doing it as a read-a-long!

    Sheila--We definitely have similar tastes in books. As soon as I am done here I'll be over at your blog seeing your current list!

    Marce--I hope Blindness isn't too strange...

    1stdaughter--A couple of our members have finished Blindness and say it is very intriguing so I am looking forward to it, but also weary of the creepiness

    I haven't heard of any of these books. Now I get to go check them out. :)

    Jealous of your position as a teacher librarian. I taught kindergarten for 3 years but always really wanted to be in the library surrounded by all those books.

    Allison--The library really is a fun place these days with the combination of books, technology and events!

    Kristin--I do think the Dressmaker is worth it

    The Afghan book sounds so good. I keep meaning to pick up a copy, I should read this one. It's so important for us to remember how difficult lives are for women.

    Mari--I definitely think the message about women's lives in other parts of the world is important, but I also love that we hear stories of success
