Saturday Snapshot--January 8, 2011

To participate in Saturday Snapshot meme post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken. Photos can be old or new, and can be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. All Alyce asks is that you don't post random photos that you find online.

I went down to my favorite beach yesterday to watch the sunset and actually remembered to take along my camera. Winter sunsets in Santa Barbara are so wonderful!

I had no idea how the photos would turn out, but I am pleased. I especially like the crazy clouds in this second one.

I went down again Friday night and we got another amazing sunset, but more red this time!

    really stunning! my husband and i visited SB on our 2007 road trip. we stopped at leadbetter beach and had lunch at a little restaurant there. i've never seen this saturday feature before but really like it! enjoy the weekend.

    SB is certainly a beautiful place! I once came close by, when I was going to Solvang. Next time I'm around, I'll let you know - we should meet up!

    These are stunning photos! I love the red sun across the water in the first one and the colors in the second pic with those clouds is amazing. But I really like the 3rd pic, the colors aren't as intense but there are so many different shapes and different textures happening, it's really interesting.

    What a wonderful way to end your day & thank you for sharing these photos :o)

    Sherrie--The clouds that night were amazing and swirly, so some of the pictures looked like movie special effects

    Trish--Thank you. Sunsets around here are more difficult since our beaches fast south and kinda' west

    Alyce--Thank you. I don't have a favorite, it keeps switching depending on my mood

    Nat--The Shoreline Cafe at Ledbetter Beach is one of our favorite places to go since you can sit at a table on the sand and the kids can run around while the grown ups talk.

    Aths--Solvang over SB? Next time definitely come to Santa Barbara and give me a call.

    Amy--Although I like the photos, actually being on the beach and watching the sun go down this way was amazing
