ReplyDeleteI read your review of the Bamboo People and now definitely want to read it. I also read your review of Angry Management and have to agree with you about Crutcher's characters. He has always been one of my favorite YA authors.
ReplyDeleteIf you get a chance read Staying Fat for Sarah Brynes and The Crazy Horse Electric Game. These are older titles, but still deal with YA issues and themes that pertinent today.
Postmistress is on my tbr list, I've read many good reviews o this book. Your opinion of "Looking for Alaska" really interests me because I read a few rave reviews of it last year and then recently saw it on sale at B&N.com for $3 but for some reason I hesitated to buy it. Do you think you'll try to finish it?

I"m curious to read your thoughts re: Postmistress. I read it earlier this spring (I should say listened). You will learn alot, it's a good book but I wanted just a little bit more of something (not sure what, but something).

Amanda--That's funny that you say I'm reading books that are everywhere since I feel like I am always behind the rest of the blogs on reading what's "hot". I think doing a couple blog tours is changing that. I try not to read the full reviews if I'm about to read a book so my thoughts aren't "tainted".

Joann--It's funny, I hated history in high school probably because it was taught by male coaches how lectured and made us memorize long lists of dates. I got into it in college and went from there!
